CASA HOUCK, FORMER HOME OF THE DELLA CROCE FAMILY
The house has a trapezoidal floor plan and an internal courtyard. The living room on the ground floor features a monumental Arzo marble fireplace with a hood adorned with decorations in stucco. The frescoes on the walls were painted before 1581 by the brothers Pozzi di Puria, of Valsolda. The walls of the living room on the first floor are also richly festooned with frescoes and the fireplace has a hood painted with the Farnese family’s coat of arms and the initials of Pope Paul III.
It is one of, if not the most beautiful living room in the Mendrisiotto region.
